This week was one for the books
We started off strong by sprinting down the streets of the city in pitch black because we left late and were going to be late to English class.
We did indeed arrive 10 mins late and out of breath. (Try sprinting .5 mile in doc Martin's and a dress down to your feet)
Later in the week we had lessons with our lovely friends: Alma, Jaime, Luis, Ricardo, and Ariel.
We had a wonderful walk day (parked our car and didn't drive all day)
Got offered to ride on motorcycles on the walk home! (We unfortunately had to decline)
Had exchanges with Sister Callister in the English area (I'm learning Spanish and English)
Heart attacked the other Hermana's door for one of their birthdays
Got gifted:
Agua chilies
Street corn
Chitimoya
All in the same day by our incredible friends
One of our friends accepted a Baptismal date for January!! We had a lesson with him the next day and we were going to teach him the word of wisdom, but he nearly passed out in the parking lot before we could start the lesson. [he is okay π]
This quote by C.S Lewis was brought up in a mission meeting recently but is also from an incredible talk "We are all his Children" by Elder Christophe G. Giraud-Carrier. I LOVE this quote.
"It is a serious thing to live in a society of possible gods and goddesses, to remember that the dullest most uninteresting person you can talk to may one day be a creature which, if you saw it now, you would be strongly tempted to worship. … There are no ordinary people. You have never talked to a mere mortal. Nations, cultures, arts, civilization—these are mortal, and their life is to ours as the life of a gnat. But it is immortals whom we joke with, work with, marry, snub, and exploit.”
Email me about something you're learning or about a funny story or anything else :)
