{Letter #26} "I sat in the box of the dirty laundry." 🙄

Good week!! A ton of lessons fell through but we met a ton of cool people so no se preocupe!!

😚English EXCHANGES with Sis.Workman-- she's so fun!! Had lessons and a member meal in English. Twas fun, we saw the beach.. :)
-
🥳went to QUINCENERA kind of on accident. But it was so cool. It was a girl in our ward named Liz; she was so pretty.

😀I gave a talk. In Spanish. Two times. The first was interesting. The second time I scrapped my notes and it went a little better

👋My brother's roommate, Ty,  was in my branch, which was shocking but so fun..

😇💙went to a baptism for the Elders' friend he's so cool. Got hugged by the brand new member in the hallway on accident.

🌊also my friend Antony in Oxnard got baptized. I'm so happy for him :))))

I love this area it is so pretty. Come visit Santa Barbara some time!!

This is what I gave my talk about this week! Trusting in God- and not relying in the things of the world. It's something I've had a hard time with doing. The world offers a lot, but I've also found as I'm seeking to follow Christ and his example, I find what I'm looking for.

"Yea, I know that God will give liberally to him that asketh. Yea, my God will give me, if I ask not amiss; therefore I will lift up my voice unto thee; yea, I will cry unto thee, my God, the rock of my righteousness. Behold, my voice shall forever ascend up unto thee, my rock and mine everlasting God. Amen."   (2nd Nephi 4:35)

I love you all!I hope you're doing well!!! Email me I would love to hear from you :)

God loves you! 🫶🫵

{Letter #25} "Happy, Happy Father's Day"

 Hola!
Sooo after a couple restless nights anticipating transfers Thursday hit and I'm officially out of Oxnard 🤯

I love and miss Oxnard but I was pretty confident I was leaving so I got to say goodbye to our friends and members

Said goodbye to Hermana Crawford as well which was so sad

We find out about transfers in an email at 6:30am on Thursdays

-it tells us to pack or not and what your assignment is Jr or Sr comp and everything

Then if you're leaving, you pack and meet at the mission office at 2. Then they'll tell you where you're going and who your comp is. Then you leave.

Me and Sister Hatch were comps for about 1-2 hours and had a lovely road trip....

A protest we saw along the way...

 to SANTA BARBARA!!

It is beautiful!    I've only been here a couple days but the ward is so precious and I am with Hermana Olaveson who I lived with in a four man apartment my first my 1st transfer and she's the cutest literally so excited!!!

We have some really really cool friends and members that have been so fun to meet.

Santa Barbara is this super pretty beach town. It's kind of unreal. There are so many flowers and palm trees and it's super hilly.

We do a lot more english finding here which is an adjustment but can also be fun!!

Highlights-
-I got to call my dad!!
-SANTA BARBARA

-Two very cool female friends!!!!!
-Got apples :)

:And again, I exhort you, my brethren, that ye deny not the gifts of God, for they are many; and they come from the same God. And there are different ways that these gifts are administered; but it is the same God who worketh all in all; and they are given by the manifestations of the Spirit of God unto men, to profit them."

We talked all about gifts from god the past couple of weeks in church! Something I was thinking of is that sometimes we tend to compare our gifts to others and become discouraged or embarrassed to share them. But I'm learning that each of us have enough. We have many gifts that are from God and he's asking you not to deny them and share them. Give what you have and God will give you far more than you could imagine!!

{Letter #24} "Change is good" 🍀☹️

 Hello hello!

How are you??This Thursday we have transfers
I'm probably leaving which is pretty sad so this week felt like a lot of goodbyes here in Oxnard but updates next week:

Miracles!
-we have this friend he's pretty cool. but we just had to move his Baptismal date back a little and they (him and his wife) were pretty nervous about going to church. But they decided to come even though they were super nervous!

Break in their story for a moment ✋️

There is a returning member who the elders have been working with this whole transfer. He had not been to church in months. This Sunday was his first Sunday back in many months and guess what happened??
Our friend the one who was nervous about going to church and making some changes was his good friend from work. The returning member was so excited and just kept saying "this is my first week back, we worked together!!"
He's now going to be helping us in lessons with him which is super exciting

-Panda Friday (all the missionaries go to panda the week before transfers to get a fortune)

-Eduardo the coolest member ever opened his mission call to Las Vegas Nevada! He leaves in about a month

-I remembered a couple of words in mixteco during a lesson with a new friend

-We went to a baptism with our friend Antony!!

I'm reading in Genesis right now! I have a goal to finish the whole Bible on my mission (hold me to it)
I was reading the story of Joseph this week
Please listen to the soundtrack for me :(
This was a verse that really stood out to me

"Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life."

I think of Jesus when I read this verse.
He suffered for your greatest pains, sins, and afflictions. And he did so willingly because he loves you. He doesn't want you to beat yourself up about something that hes covered.

Email me I love hearing from y'all.  HAVE THE BEST WEEK.

{Letter #23} "I've been wearing these boots since I was 7." 👢👢

 Hola!! How are you doing??

This week was insane in the best way!

Tuesday
We had interviews with president which was good as always

Then we celebrated Hermana Crawford's year mark by doing weekly planning at I-hop
Almost immediately after, we got fed during a stop by for like the first time ever.
We were very full but we did indeed eat the tacos because we wanted them to come to church :) (hindsight 20/20 they did not in fact come to church:(

Wednesday
Random day

Thursday
We extended a Baptismal date to Odwin (previously Edwin) and Elisa (previously Lisa) and THEY ARE GETTING BAPTIZED!!! They are so excited and I am so excited for them 💗

Friday!!
Exchanges in our area with Hermana Powell!! We saw the gophers in the park ( shoutout to Hermana Vanderbilt)

We had President in a lesson with our really cool friend. It was terrifying because I was leading out the area so it was no one else knew the friend. I was the only one he knew so he kept asking me questions and suddenly my spanish abilities went out the window... but it was such a good lesson! We think it helped him to be a bit more prepared!
Then President and Hermana Rodriguez bought us dinner which was pretty cool
And after we had a lesson with our friend who will be moving back to mexico soon he's so cool!! We're worried cause the church is going to be about 2 hours away from his new home :(

Saturday- Had a lesson in a members house and it was so good!! They really helped him to feel more ready and welcomed into the ward!

Sunday-
I bore my testimony in Spanish it was actually terrifying
Odwin and Elisa came to church and were smiling the whole time they're incredible!!!!!!

🤍🕊😇

What challenges do you have and need God to help you with?

I read this question in PMG the other day and it really hit me. Sometimes I think of my problems or my weaknesses as something that keep me away from God. Things that make me further from him.
But as I pondered that question I realized how powerful it really is. God wants to help us and he cares about the things we care about.
What do you think of when you hear the first part of that question? I think of my biggest unconcurable challenge. It means a lot to me that every time I seek God's help and I go to work giving what I can, I will have the help of a loving Heavenly father who has a lot of power.
What ever you thought about whether it be big or small I invite you to pray about it. I promise he's listening and he will add to every effort:)
