{Letter #14} "Ohhhh, You're the Mexicana..."

Hola!!! This week was fantastic, though I miss my bike.

We had zone conference which is always a blast

and we also had 2 days with like 3 whole confirmed lessons!! ⛷️

Living in a four man is the best

Went thrifting at the bins
I had exchanges with the Hermana Lasa and it was so fun, but also I've never been more scared when the mission car alarm yelled at her like 30 times to "check your speed!"

Sat in the library got recognized as the missionaries and then this guy pointed at my slightly less blonde better at spanish comp and said "oh you must be the Mexican one!" Then he blew us kisses and for some reason I instinctively DID IT BACK then I realized what had just happened and we almost peed our pants in the library because what was that.

Got asked to climb in someones window and unlock their door but couldn't because it would involve climbing a ladder :(

On Saturday a member gave me cake for my birthday and I almost cried it was so sweet

Our friends are doing good! We have basically 2 but they're so cool! We find a lot which is so entertaining sometimes

I love the reminder that we can turn to him in every moment. Whether it be the worst day of your life or something small and likely unimportant to others it matters to God and Christ understands!!!! We can seek their help

my district got me a cake a sang to me

felt like a whole week
We took a new sister around on splits she was so cool and is now in oxnard as well
Then later we with juanito and got ice cream (again)

Thursday
Transfers
I'm staying in Oxnard which is great because I LOVE Oxnard 🐂
Hermana Vanderbilt is off to Lompoc and guess who her new comp is, my mtc comp,
Hermana Dick!!! Crazy

And so now I'm in Oxnard with Hermana Crawford!
It feels like I'm whitewash leading an area
We have gone out of area on accident more times than I'd like to admit....

Crazy because I had no clue what I was doing

Saturday
Taught english class

Had a BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR VICTOR! we scared him half to death with a popper and gave him cake!🎉
And then we had a great lesson with him

Sunday
Figured out Hermana Wimmer lives like right next to my family Alpine (like my family can actually see her house from their back porch)

Night church for the win

This week was INSANE

But my spiritual thought is John 14 27
Life can be hard and crazy and sometimes we don't know what to do or where to look in those moments.
" Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Not as the world giveth give I unto you." 

There is one person who gets it. There is one person who understands what you're going through. Jesus Christ understands every thought and every pain. Look to him he knows, he gets it, and he can bring peace.

{Letter #12} "They Brang the Cake and I Eated it"

 Hola! 
This week was busy, a wee bit chaotic AND maravilloso

Monday
Hna Olaveson got impacted by an emergency transfers  and moved to santa barbara
so now I'm in a trio with hermanas van and powell! I love love love the trio
I've been in a car, I miss biking. And we're covering two areas which is an adventure!

Tuesday
Weekly planning at red Robin's and it took FOREVER because we are merging the two areas

Thursday
Tried to film a video for zone but we were laughing too much

Friday
Cut hair

Saturday
Had Ice cream with Edwardo and explained my epilepsy to him in spanish
como se dice fluent ?
Taught english class and forgot a lot of English but learned a lot of spanish
Our dinner got stolen

Sunday
Went to church ☀️☀️
Hna Vanderbilt got peed on by a dog during a lesson

Spiritual thought
3 nephi 12 2-3
And again, more blessed are they who shall believe in your words because that ye shall testify that ye have seen me, and that ye know that I am. Yea, blessed are they who shall believe in your words, and come down into the depths of humility and be baptized, for they shall be visited with fire and with the Holy Ghost, and shall receive a remission of their sins.
3 Yea, blessed are the poor in spirit who come unto me, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
I love how it speaks of humility

I have no clue who said it but I remember in a lesson someone wrote a quote that said, "humility is not thinking less of yourself;  It's thinking of yourself less."
Humility really is how we can come unto christ thinking of our own flaws and abilities less and trusting in his abilities more.

I almost got killed by a white board on a FB live in front on 24.K people you can watch it happen because ITS STILL THERE 😭

Wednesday
We had a great lesson with a guy a basically bashed us the first time we met but we met again and he had read the BOM and asked a lot of great questions
Super weird because my companion told him our names because we dint think we'd see him again and now he calls me Ellie...

Thursday
Had a lesson with Luis!!!
Got yelled at at a door knocking for the first time haha
Knocked on a guys door and he had baby cats!!! And 5 giant adult cats

Friday
So many zooms 🫠

Elders got stuck on porch trying to climb back into their apartment after they got locked out

Saturday
Had really good exchanges with hermana olaveson again she's my favorite literally precious
Then after me and hermana van were back together we met with our friend who was having a pretty bad day

Sunday
We were really worried about our friend and he didn't come to church, but night church happened for the 1st time in months and he was able to come!! During the service he leaned over and told us "I'm happy." It was a miracle and there was so much peace even though he's still has unbelievably happening. Miracles happen

Spiritual thought
When we speak of those who are instruments in the hand of God, we are reminded that not all angels are from the other side of the veil. Some of them we walk with and talk with—here, now, every day. Some of them reside in our own neighborhoods. … Indeed heaven never seems closer than when we see the love of God manifested in the kindness and devotion of people so good and so pure that angelic is the only word that comes to mind

God hears EVERY prayer. He does have the power to send help in every moment when humbly seek his assistance
